Welcome Back to a New School Year!

We hope you have had a wonderful summer break and enjoyed some special time together.

We wish all our pupils a happy, successful and enjoyable year ahead. Welcome back - are so pleased to be a part of your learning journey!

Take a look below to find out what we will be learning this half-term.

Curriculum

In English, we will develop our writing skills through our class book 'Seal Surfer ' by Micheal Foreman. Our writing outcome will be to write a letter from the boy to his grandfather telling him about the events he has missed. applying Gateway and Mastery keys taught throughout the unit.

In Maths, our focus will be on place value, addition and subtraction.

In RE, our topic is Prophecy and Promise. We will explore how God’s promises and the words of the prophets prepare God’s people for the coming of Jesus. Pupils will learn about key Old Testament stories and prophecies, considering how they point towards the birth and mission of Christ. They will explore the Annunciation, Mary’s response to God’s call, and the importance of Advent as a time of hope and preparation. Pupils will also consider how God’s promises are fulfilled in Jesus and how this inspires Christians to live with faith, hope and trust in God today.

In Geography, we will be working to answer the question - Is the UK the same all over?

In History, we will be working to answer the question – How did Britain change from the Stone Age to the Iron Age?

In Science, we will be learning about how humans impact the environment. We will explore litter and pollution, investigate how materials decompose, and discover how microplastics and oil spills can affect wildlife.

In Art, we will be exploring charcoal. We will experiment with different techniques, exploring tone, texture, shading and mark-making to create expressive artwork.
