Mathematics Curriulum Intent

 

At Christ the King children of all ages will have enjoyment and curiosity through the use of a mastery approach to help learners meet their needs. Our ambitious maths curriculum provides Quality First Teaching at the heart of every lesson. Children will be fluent with the fundementals of maths, reason mathematically, have the ability to solve problems and apply this knowledge across the curriculum, in real life contexts and as they progress to their next stage of learning in school and the wider world.

Hi my name is Mrs Fallows, I lead mathematics here at Christ the King and I love all things 'maths'. As maths leader I love the opportunity to make a difference and inspire children to have a lifelong love of maths and love maths as much as I do. This year I am very excited as we enter our third year of the Multiplication check and we begin to love to "Times tables Rock!!!" 

At Christ the King, our teaching of maths is based on the White Rose Hub from Early Years Foundation Stage through to Year 6.

Last term, we held a "Times tables rock" day!! It was a huuuuge success and got us all excited to practise our times tables at home. Keep your eyes peeled for our top secret special Maths day planned for the Spring Term 2023!!
