Library Trip - Reception
Reception enjoyed their visit to the library last Thursday.
When we got to the library the children listened to a story and then listened to the librarians as they explained the different kinds of books that were available to borrow. The children were then able to explore the children's section of the library to read and choose a book to take home. Lots of children joined the library and were able to take out their first book, which was very exciting!
The children were very sensible when walking to and from the library and represented our school very well. We also had some parent helpers who came along too, which was great for the children to see parents getting involved.
Well done Reception!
Information for parents
Any children who borrowed a library book on 17th January need to return them to the library by 7th February 2019, as books are borrowed for 3 weeks and then they must be returned or renewed.
There are also DVDs and talking books that can be borrowed from the library.
Children can borrow up to 20 books at one time.
There is a 'Beginning to Read' section where children can borrow books which are similar to those that they currently bring home from school to read at home.
There are also lots of 'information books' on topics such as Space, which is our topic in Reception at the moment, which the children may be interested to know more about.
The library has various workshops such as Lego club, which the children can get involved in.
Here's what some of the children said about our trip... "We walked there...I liked that there was a children's section...I liked the Elsa and Anna book...I liked the train and the fluffy rug...I liked the skeletons book and the train too!"
