The Wonderful Water Cycle

Last week, Owls had great fun creating a ‘water cycle in a bag’ for our first Geography lesson on the topic. We learnt about how we use water everyday and the processes water goes through in the cycle to create rain and rivers.

We have also been exploring this theme through the story 'The Rhythm of the Rain' by Grahame Baker-Smith, in which we follow a story about a boy called Issac who is playing in his favourite pool on the side of his favourite mountain. He pours a jar of water into the river by the pool. We follow this jar on its journey all the way back to the ocean. We have been exploring adjectives describing water and creating expanded noun phrases using these. We have also created super similes-about waterfalls.
